The club has not yet made an official announcement, but since it is already being talked about on different forums and on social media, I thought I might as well add my comments here on the blog, and thereby allow our international friends to get in on the good news as well. To put it as simply as I can, for the first time in history, there will be a youth team carrying Tampere United colors.

The secret broke out when people found this page. Yep, buried deep in that page you can see that a TamU-K youth team of nine-year-old boys has been entered into playing futsal this winter. Apparently this team will play football in the summer as well, and there is even talk about additional TamU-K youth teams in the upcoming summer.

This is a momentous occasion for our club, and one that comes as a total surprise. Yes, there has been talk about adding youth teams into the club, but I do not think anybody expected it to happen this quickly. For many today is a day they have been dreaming of for years and years. For others, especially those who have never wished us well, this piece of news must come as a huge shock. And yet, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
