Head coach’s letter to our international friends: Thank you! Success is shared

I’ve been pretty much involved in the daily running of TamU-K since I joined the club when it entered official competitions. I remember that one of the first things our then coach Antti Pettinen told me was that in addition to the local following the club has fans abroad as well. It amazed me then and it still does. It’s time for me to express my gratitude to you all.

When fans lose their beloved club, reactions from inside and outside vary greatly. Inside, there are many who turn their coats and begin to follow another team. There are those who don’t care and then there are those who start to fight for what they love.

I’ll focus on those who started to fight and for whom I fight in our project every day to restore this club as high a level as we can. The majority of the local football people ridiculed them and laughed at them for fighting for a dead cause. Not all of course, but still the support we got from abroad boosted our self-esteem a great deal.

As we have shown that we mean business and are a force to be reckoned with, critics have been silenced. And the level of support has stayed phenomenal.

I would like to give my special thanks to our friends in Seattle. The people of ECS have raised a few eyebrows in Finland by publicly supporting us with banners in MLS-games. My whole team and the entire community around us is proud of it!

Personally, I’ve been lucky enough to make friends with some of you great people. I salute you all!

Our great “From the Terraces” blogger keeps you up to date with nearly everything that happens in our club, but if you wish to know more, don’t hesitate to contact me in Facebook or Twitter (ImmortalMMS)!

Onwards and upward. We are more United than ever! Hop on the bandwagon, success is shared!

Yours sincerely,
Mika ”Immortal” Suonsyrjä
