Preparations for the Regular Season

The regular season starts in less than two weeks on Sunday May 6th with a match against TaPa/2, the second team of Tampereen Palloilijat. All indications are that TamU-K is taking the preparations for this match very seriously. Indeed, not only is getting a positive start to the regular season very important for the team’s goal of getting promoted at the end of the season, but almost as importantly the supporters are craving for something to celebrate after the disappointment against KaVo in the Regions Cup fixture.

As a minor setback, the club announced today that the training tournament scheduled for the upcoming weekend has been canceled by the organizing club FC Tribe. Instead the club will be training in Tampere with FC LaPro, another local club who play in Vitonen this season. Of course this is not as good as semi-competitive matches in a tournament, but training with a team that is preparing for a season one division above us is still a good substitute. From what I hear, TamU-K has a great relationship with FC LaPro. I went to their forum just now, and noticed a comment that seemed to be as happy as I am that there’s going be a training match on a full size pitch. Apparently there is an agreement about gentleman’s rules, which I guess should be a given, but it is good to see this is being mentioned explicitly.
